Welcome Back SWAT Students and Advisors!
August 10, 2020

Welcome Back!  As the 2020-2021 school years begins, we are very excited about the Big Plans our Clay County Students Working Against Tobacco Chapter has in the works.

With the current e-cigarette epidemic with youth, it is imperative now more than ever that students use this platform to inform, support, and fight back for their generation’s health. Due to Covid-19 we have faced many challenges for face to face meetings. We are thankful for the internet and sources such as zoom to stay connected throughout the year whether its face to face or virtual.

2020-2021 SWAT Advisors attend an organizational meeting.

This year, there are 9 clubs located across Clay County.  The main goal is to educate and spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and nicotine addiction.  Many of these clubs have already held recruitment activities to bring in new members to join the mission.  Each club will host activities to promote, “Not a Lab Rat Day, Red Ribbon Week, Great American Smoke out, Through with Chew Week, and World No Tobacco Day.  These activities allow opportunities for Students Working Against Tobacco Clubs to engage their peers and school personnel with emerging tobacco trends, while also educating them on the dangers of tobacco use.

You can find SWAT clubs at the following schools:
