September 14, 2013

ORANGE PARK, FL- Orange Park High School senior Aser Civilus was recently elected among North Florida Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) members to serve on the Florida SWAT Youth Advocacy Board.

Aser is one of three youth elected to represent SWAT members from 21 northeastern counties. A veteran SWAT member, Aser plans to assist county SWAT chapters in implementing effective communication and outreach strategies that bring more youth in the SWAT organization.

“I’m very excited to serve on the Youth Advocacy Board,” said Aser. “This opportunity will allow me to educate more students on how the Tobacco Industry targets teenagers into a lifelong addiction to a product that eventually kills you.” One of the reasons why he joined SWAT is to make sure his younger siblings never use tobacco.

Aser begins his Youth Advocacy Board duties immediately and is available to participate in other SWAT chapter activities.

Please feel free to contact Joey O'Hern to make arrangements for Aser to speak with your SWAT youth.
