Clay County SWAT Youth Attend Annual QuitDoc Tobacco Prevention Summit
April 28, 2017

On April 28, 2017 Clay County Students Working Against Tobacco Youth attended the 9th Annual QuitDoc Tobacco Prevention Summit in Gainesville, Florida. SWAT Club members from Orange Park High School, Oakleaf High School, Oakleaf Junior High School and Wilkinson Junior High School were in attendance.

The theme for the one day summit was Emerging Issues of Tobacco Control. SWAT students participated in two keynote sessions where Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids presented about taking down tobacco and informing decision makers. The SWAT students also participated in two breakout sessions. Youth breakout sessions were interactive and an informative training experience for Clay County SWAT youth. Students were trained on public speaking and on rural county tobacco initiatives.

This training was a great opportunity for Clay County SWAT students to continue to gain knowledge and be educated on important information about tobacco prevention. This will allow the SWAT students to take information back to students on their school campuses and spread the knowledge gained.
