Clay County Students Working Against Tobacco Attend Regional Training and Leadership Conference
October 5, 2015

The Region 2 Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) held their annual meeting on September 26 at the Thrasher Horne Conference Center in Orange Park.

“Piece of the Puzzle, Part of the Whole” was the theme for the meeting this year. The students learned how each county can be like a puzzle piece, coming together to make the whole state of Florida better for tobacco prevention.

Three local high school students represented Clay County at the meeting: Erykah Maxwell from Oak Leaf High School; Ashley Penafiel from Orange Park High School; and Roddra Johnson from Oak Leaf High School. During the meeting, Ashley Penafiel was also elected to the Youth Advocacy Board where she will represent Clay County and Region 2 at the state level.
